Birthday gift!

I seldom do this. I have been living for others.... for the past years... and I thought, for once, I should treat myself better. I always like 2 things greatly.... 1. Swatch 2. fountain ink pen and guess what? Yes, I don't have them. Both of them. The Swatch I bought in Swissland some 15 years ago stopped functioning since 3 years ago and the fountain ink pen I got from my dad when I was 10 years old has been too old for any use (of course I still have it with me). So, I thought, may be it is good to get either one of them. I always wanted this Swatch watch .. and I always go and check it out but I never buy it. And so I thought, may be I should check it out again ... to see if I am convinced that I should buy it. I didn't. It's expensive. So, I went to check the fountain ink pen out... I saw one which I like it a lot... and so, I bought myself a birthday gift... on the day my dad had a stroke (27.01.2011).

Dad!

Just as I was blogging on my last post, my dad had a stroke and by the time I reached Tawau (straight to the hospital), he was undergoing a surgery. The Dr explained in details what's happening, what are they doing and what's the risk before I signed another 2 forms for 2 more procedures to be carried out in the Operation Theatre. Guess last year was ended and this year begins with very much unexpected experiences.
I have been receiving lots of sms and phone calls... personally from relatives, uncles, aunties, cousins.... all asking me just one question: Are you coping alright? Well, for a simple reason, everyone knows I am my dad's little girl and he loves me a lot and we are very close. Just last month, I believe, I told a friend that, if this is happening, I won't be able to take it and... it happens... well, no matter how much I prepare myself for this day to come, it's some how harder than what I can imagine. My dad has been my guidance and advisor all of my life. At least for the past 36 years. I remember how much time he spent with me, just to make sure I survive each day with joy. I relied on him a lot... to a point, he has to make sure I know how to take care of myself without him, i.e. by making sure I don't always stick with him in Tawau. Make sure that I get my own life, lives outside home - the comfort zone. In my spiritual walk, in learning surviving skills.... everywhere you saw my dad, I was there...most of the time. I have learned skills that he owes, I have learned praying, casting out demons, all that sorts from my dad. He is everything to me... he is the only one I can share my heart with. I sms him more than any human being in this world.
When I was going through the toughest day in my life 2 weeks ago, I told him I will definately won't take my life because I have been through even tougher moments in life and I can do it. He replied " That's my girl" and when I failed the first 2 rounds and I told him I want to do it again for the 3rd time, he said, "yes, I know you can do it!". I did it. I did. Just that I didn't manage to tell him that I have done it. I was waiting to come home to tell him I did it. Well, I only manage to tell him that I am home and I am better and I have done it, without him seeing my expression. I am sure he heards it. We did quite a few things together 2 weeks ago before I took up the challenge to go back to KK to re-gain my 'strength'. We planned to go buy my bed when I came back. Oh well, that's still not done yet. Not that I care about how well I can sleep these days.
Chinese new year is around the corner... and as I came back from hospital after the terrible traffic jam in the town, I looked at the post box in front of my house while waiting for the main gate to open, I realised, it's this time last year that my dad and I went to the shop, bought some paints home and painted our front doors and the post box. It has been a year... and this year, I don't have my dad with me in the house... I came home, went into the computer room and I saw the celcom broadband... and I remember that day when my dad went to the court to fetch me home after my court hearing. We stopped by celcom and gets our broadband sorted. He's so happy about being able to have a faster speed broadband.
I know it is me who makes my dad worries and suffered stroke. I know dad has been worry about my job and my sicknesses. He encouraged me to take up the firm but when I called him and told him about my sickness on 29th December 2010, he asked me don't take up the firm, take a rest and go for holiday or come home. I know he wants me to enjoy my life. He knows I am not happen, upset and feeling hopelessness. It reminds me of how much time he spent just to pray for me. Yes, for all these 36 years of life, I went through many difficulties in life, ... because I have a father who interceds for me.
Just before he was attacked by stroke, he shared with a few church members about worrying about my job and my sickness. I know I shouldn't blame myself over this, but, nope. ... it's so hard not to. But I do promise my dad that I will be his little girl again... to lives happily in the days to come. There's just so many memories we shared together... and I really miss my dad ...
Few days walking to and fro from the hospital, we met quite a number of people....whom recognised dad and was shocked to find him in the ward. Many are the parents of my dad's students. Some, we do not know them at all, but they were my dad's students, etc. Most of them are successful Datuks, professionals, professors in the universities, doctors these days... and most of them came around and told us what good deeds dad has done in their life. There's this haji who came in and told me all about what dad has helped his children. I remember dad took us to the Ice Box in Tawau and how close he always be with the parents of his students and his students. We met a research clerk in the hospital in the afternoon who took the efforts to came up to visit him this morning and told us that she is my dad's student and he just saw his name. She said she will inform all the students of his. I guess the whole Tawau has found out that dad is in the hospital now...
The captain from M.V. Hannah came and prayed for dad this afternoon (I was too tired and I couldn't wake up at all), and according to my brother, dad moved his body during that prayer.
Well, I seriously miss him... especially when I am at the situation where, no one is hearing me out here.... I am not so sure which one is harder to bear, losing friends (they are around but don't really care) or losing my dad.... but it's certainly the hardest when I need to cope with these 2 at the same time together with my own sickness and job issue.
All I can do now is really shout at Him and ask Him for his mercy .... Lord, have mercy on me!

New year, new life?

I am still at this 'accepting the fact' moment.... and I just cannot believe a month has gone past and I have started this year in such a way. However, a friend reminded me that the year of rabbit is yet to arrive. Hence, I am praying and hoping that, by the time the year of rabbit (my year) start, I am much better and I am refreshed to re-start my life again. In fact, I am looking forward.
I know it's a bit late, but nevertheless, "Happy new year, everyone!"

Turn bad to good?

I am suffering from something I have no knowledge of and all I get these days are that, I need to get well and back to the normal me again. I don't know how. Seriously. But, this is me, I am back, I am feeling better today and I am reconnect myself back online. I woke up, saw a hammer next to me, I look at the clock, it's 8a.m. in the morning. I sat next to the hammer and wonder, "what happen?". That scene... is so familiar to all as we all seen that in TV before, but I trust that, I am the only one is experincing it. I walked out my room, saw my housemate's room is half emptied and the knob of the door was damaged and i wonder, what happen.... I walked in her room, sat down at the corner and I only remember I got angry and threw things out of the windows. I look down from the window and no things were there. I walked to my own room, I saw the time now is 9a.m. I still have yet to figure out what happen. I got myself ready for church. I iron my clothes and then I open the main door. I was shock to see my housemate's stuffs were outside. I got all the things in, went out, start my car and went to the church. Sat down there, throughout the whole service, bit by bit, memory set in and I realised, my housemates has moved because I asked her to.
I got all the food, breakfast and all after service, came home, called my housemate and a few friends. I feel relief. Yes, now that she is not around, I found comfortable and happy. I laught and joke around with friends on the phone. Looking forward for a new life to take place.
As I was talking to one of my friend, she reminds me that God places me in this situation to understand people whom no one is able to understand. I thank God that I have the opportunity to go through this and I know, I am not wasting a month without doing anything. I am learning something from Him. I am trying to experience things which not many are choose to experience. I really am glad that certain people came and make sure I was doing fine during this period of time. Many of those phone calls, distracted my 'negative thoughts' and i appreciate that, a lot. Thank you.
I guess, God somehow turns something we see it as 'bad' to something good after all, didn't He?

Just like...

I am shocked to find out that my situation is like Peter Houghton at "Nineteen Minutes", except, I have God. Otherwise, .... ghoosh... I could be where he is now....

Tough Journey

I ended last year with bitterness, hopelessness, confusion, angers and hurts. I started this year with an experience and expectation which is very much different from the previous years. First, with difficulties, Secondly, with nothing. Thirdly, I will be starting this year with 0. Nope. I am not saying just in terms of money, but friends, ministries and career as well. I started this year all by myself and I am starting this journey alone.

I was up in a walk with a friend yesterday and we started by not knowing what is ahead of us. We only know there's paths where we can go on and we will eventually finish the path we took. We started with someone besides us but 15 minutes later, we were left alone. The person who was with us has taken another path off to another path (which we didn't know about) and we standed there to wait for another passer-by to show us where we should go, but we gave up waiting after 5 minutes. We choose one of the 2 pathes ahead of us and we follow that direction for a very long while, until we reached a very difficult path. I can felt that I was not having enought stamina to continue. I took a break on the way up to the hill. When I thought I am finishing with the hills, i saw another few in front and I stopped there telling my friend that I am giving up. Friend encouraged me to go on. I walked and walked up the hills and even though they are hills which looks difficult, it's not that difficult after all. I passed a few and an uncle saw us having difficulties under the hot sun, he gave us an umbrella. After we passed a few hard ones, we reached one which is the toughest among all. I stopped half way, sat on the floor and I really told my friend, "that's it. It's too difficult and I am giving up". Yup, my friend knows I didn't mean of going through all the hills. My friend knows I mean, what I am going through in life these days. My friend immediately sat down and encouraged me, helped me to get up, and before we started to walk, during such a difficult journey, an uncle passed by, my friend asked water from him and he gave us. While we walked another 15 minutes, we met another aunty and she left us down the hill within 15 minutes.

It's a difficult journey. I seriously don't think I manage to go through it if not because of my friend who really sat down and encourage me and took me on my hand and push me up the difficult paths.

In real life, I seriously at that point of time now, where I really saying "That's it, this is too difficult and I am giving up". But as i look around, I only saw all my friends just like other passer-by who just passed me by without even having the compassion to give me an 'umbrella' or 'water'. or even a word of encouragement. All they said is they are busy with their own life and all i need, is to do it myself. Yup. I am very much disappointed that everyone left me at that most difficult times of mine and I will never appreciate what they did. Through them, I only realised, I am a rubbish, I am not needed, I am a nuisance and I cause everyone in difficulties.

Yes, you may say God is what needed to focus... how can I focus in Him alone if the people who said they are God's children has done the damage most to me? I have my focus on God alright.... just that, I can't seems to understand why can't any of those i hold dear give me a 'hand' or at least an encouragement at the most difficult times of my life. Instead, they choose to leave me alone.

This is, so far, the most difficult time in my life and ... yes, I am seriously giving up. ...
