Not a good feeling...

I always good in this. Prediction and/or being able to "foresee" the future. It has happen many times since young. I used to think God gives me a special gift... but after a while, I wish I do not have that 'gift'. I was not having a good feeling few days before dad suffer stroke. When I dreamt of someone or something that night, I will wake up receiving the news about that someone or something. I hate that... especially until to-date, I am quite sure to tell you that the bad news are more than the good one. I don't think I have ever tell anyone about this 'gift' of mine... and to be honest, most of the things happen these months... it's WITHIN the prediction after all, that includes who will stay on, who won't... what's going to work, what's not. Interesting for you isn't it? Not for me... to know all these earlier only means, I am 'suffering' from it for a longer period of time. Agree? Anyway, I am having quite a few bad feelings on things that's happening. Do you want to know what they are? Do you want to take some guesses?

Anyway, I am missing my dad badly these few days....

Shock!

Shock No. 1.

I was so anxious about not being able to get up this morning for a court matter because I took a sleeping pill last night.... but guess what? Ya.. the pill doesn't take effect at all... and I went into sleep around 1:30am and woke up at 6am.

Shock No. 2.

I know there's a circular saying all the courts matters will start at 9a.m again instead of what we were told 8:30am for the past few months.... but by 9a.m, I can count.... I am the ONLY one in the court room... and my opponent is no where to be found...

Shock No. 3.

Finally, my opponent came in and we managed to talked a bit by me telling her what I am going to tell the judge and i asked her "Any objection with my proposal?" She said... "Actually, we do not have any objections to whatever amount you are to garnished from our client". Then 2 minutes later we were in the Chamber. I told the court exactly what I told her I am going to do. The Judge was happy and then he asked my opponent, "Any objection?". She said .. "Actually, we do not have any objections... IF there's not order as to cost to our client". Both the judge and I looked at her... Judge in particular can't believe what he heard and asked the interpreter to get him a copy of the Subordinate Court Rules 1980. Oh well, I get what I asked for.. more than enough...

Shock No. 4.

I looked at my watch and I realised it's only 9:30am in the morning... and I have finished my matter.... and so, it's time to go to my insurance company to get my amended policies...

Good lawyer?

I have been struggling about continuing my practice as a lawyer. Many do know I hate being a lawyer, more so someone who is going to do all the arguments in Court and get bullied ALL THE TIME. Yes, that's me. I have been trying to be brave, trying to be bold and trying to stand on my feets for my cases and none of the time, I miss being BULLIED. Why? Because I don't look like I know my case and I don't have a look which stick out at my face and says "I am good, beware". I do have a face where everyone think I just graduated. That's why. The reason why am I not dressing and acted like one fierce lawyer is simple.... I don't want to be one. I learned the lesson from one case and after that, I acted just like them.... being good outside the court, and inside the court, I bite them one by one. That's what I learn and that's the practice here in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I happen to have a case in Tawau years ago and my opponent is a very senior lawyer. We fought so much on our clients' behalf and sad to say, the trial didn't go on but I managed to get a consent judgment for my client. The case is still going on but in a very slow progress. I called her up end of December 2010 to tell her I will be on long leaves and her genuine concern is, whether I am doing alright. After that, she keeps encouraging me at least once a month by sms. I called her today for the case again and all she is concern is how am i doing, etc. and so I told her what happen and the possibility of me going back to Tawau, etc. She is kind enough to encourage me and give me a piece of her opinion. I must say, she is a very good lawyer, really.... and she says she is going to talk to her partner and see what they can do for me, be it in KK or in Tawau. Isn't this what I call helpful? Oh well... it's pain in the heart too at the same time when I realised even someone like my opponent is treating me nicer than people I used to call them 'friend'. This is really a joke.... Well, how do you define a good lawyer? I will say, a good one doesn't take things personally... and they respect their opponent. Trust me, there's not many on earth..........
