I was told to have a meeting with a client this morning at 9am together with my partner. So, I woke up at 6 something in the morning, went and see my client at 7am and then came in to office slightly before 8am. At about 9am, after sorting out some other files, client came and we had discussion from 9am until around 10:30 am. Thereafter, we rushed a piece of work there and then until we end up taking our turns in having our quick lunch. As the matter occured in Tawau, I was told I might need to go to Tawau if we manage to get the Order from the court this afternoon. Client came back to office to double check the cause papers and there after, at around 2:30pm, together with clients, I went to court first while my partner rushed another thing before attending court matters. I almost stucked in the court as the client who doesn't speaks English was to sign an affidavit drafted in English. Thank God, his translator was there too and after we got everything settled, just when we were asking for the court to assign us with which court and which judge, my partner arrived and from there, we rushed like crazy. First we were assigned to Court A, but the Judge wasn't free. We asked the case to be transferred to other court but the court clerks refused. We can't wait any longer and so we went to Court B asking for favour from another Judge. The Judge in Court B was in a criminal trial and he only free after 6:30pm. We have no choice, but to try another court. We met this interpreter who told us what we should do and we went to see the relevant officer. By the time we reached where the officer was, we noticed that by then, we have already alarmed the whole High Court of our urgent matter. She was not very happy, but she still asked us to explain to her what exactly is the case. I told her and stressed on that it's very urgent and we really seriously needed that Order by this afternoon and she then alerted her boss, one of the High Court judge. In 5 minutes, we were asked to go and see the Judge in his chamber. We went in, less than 5 minutes, we were out with Order granted. Thereafter, we went to the nearby Sabah Law Association to type our Order and then back to the Court to get it signed and sealed by the officer.
By the time we reached her, she was talking with 2 court clerks on our case as she mentioned, in urgent matters like this, they just have to really rush thing for us, etc.
Going to Tawau? While we were waiting, rushing, walking, we have decided not to go to Tawau. We asked our client to go instead. Goodness....!!!!
And because of that, I am still in the office with my partner. We need to rushed another cause papers that's come with today's Order. Our hearing is on Friday morning. Isn't that interesting? I hope I get paid for all these. hahaha...
- what a day -
