Random Thoughts!

1. I was sitting at Secret Rep. this afternoon for lunch... and my mind wander around... and rested on one of the day when I was in court the whole day, ... and during lunch time, where I was to take my lunch somewhere near the court (at that time, near Jalan Raja). A friend suggested we should go to Secret Rep instead of the 2 shops where we all had our breakfast at after court matters. That was the first time, I had my lunch at Secret Rep. Seriously... I was only receiving RM890 per month (after deduction of EPF) and when we sat down at Secret Rep, I was looking for the cheapest food to fill my stomach. Pumpkin soup that was... I still remember. I started to count my blessing while I was in Secret Rep just now... because I almost visited the same place at least once a month now a day.
2. I reached court about 30 minutes before the court starts and I did planned to come into office before going court just to send a letter to a lawyer. However, as I woke up late, I went to court straight from my home instead. Well, since I was early, I took out my ipod touch, switched on the Wi-fi and yes, I got myself connected to internet. After sending my boss an email, I wrote an email to this lawyer and it was done within minutes. I guess because I was early, the court somehow called my case first. How nice....
3. I have a few matters in my table recently. One of which I hated the most as it was seriously contested. However, I received my opponent's notice of application yesterday (sealed) that they would like to discharge themselves as the Defendants' solicitor. At this stage (submission stage), I am really looking forwards to get a judgment for you client. Just because of the case not going to trial, I have lossed big money. But somehow, I still want a judgment for my client instead. No wonder I am poor huh? hmm....
4. I have this contested divorce matter next Friday and seriously, I have never done a contested divorce before. I am sure it is not going to be hectic as next Friday was for mention, but I guess, somehow, I am stressed.
5. This morning's case... I knew the Judge is going to give me a date which is the same at my trial dates in Labuan, I can just accept the date and ask for extension again for my Labuan's case. But I was reluctant. Don't ask me why. Most probably because the Labuan's case really annoyed me....
6. I have been thinking of 2 similar incidents where, I was deeply hurted and sad, but is still being blamed for responded in such manner. Well, I admitted it's my fault, but my heart still hurts... but who knows and who cares?
7. I am suppose to finish 2 pieces of works by today, but ... I am here blogging about my random thoughts... how terrible!

Attitude!

I cannot remember how many post of mine before this was also about 'attitude'. Well, I guess not everyone understand how much different attitude with people in Malaysia compare to other western countries unless you have been to the other wester country before. Hence, many have the opinion that my post was just about my own point of view. Oh well, I admit that, it was indeed, my own opinion.
I went into this government hospital with another friend yesterday. We need to get 3 doctors to issue a letter to transfer my friend's grandfather case to Sandakan. Of all 3 departments, I was seriously found it 'bizarre' as we got 3 different responds of which, one of the respond was beyond my expectation as it really arouse my anger towards them. Well, my friend was great... she played along with them while I really controlled myself not to speak a word. What happen was, we went in to the first department, and the nurse was helpful enough to tell us what we should do, etc. So, we went to the 2nd department and we saw 3 nurses at the receiption. We stood there for about 1 minute before one nurse looked at us (they were sort of BUSY of their own thing, including cutting papers, talking on phone and so on) and asked us what we want. My friend was kind enough to speak in her always soft and sweet voice, telling her we need a letter from this doctor and so on. The second nurse looked at us after we said that and started with her respond asking us to bring my friend's grandfather to the hospital to see the doctor first. I guess, she probably didn't hear us mention 'grandfather' or rather, may be... she thought all senior citizen has the ability to move around easily. We stressed the point that my friend's grandfather is moving over to Sandakan this Friday and well, we got 'shot' though... by the nurses by saying "Huh? why so urgent? Cannot lah like that, he has to come and see doctor before transfer mah. Why didn't make proper arrangement earlier?" etc. etc. etc. Well, I guess she suggested that, we have to get the PERMISSION from the doctor of such moves. I was really angry when I heard that and I really told the nurses, it's a sudden, urgent and immediate decision of this to move and therefore we are here to request for the letter. The nurses looked at me in one kind and giving a very annoying look on my face suggesting that "small girl, you know who you are talking to?" and so, I asked if it is possible for us to meet the doctor now. Obviously, they refuses by saying the doctor wasn't around and they only be able to give us an appointment next week if we can make it. OBVIOUSLY.... my friend's grandfather is leaving on Friday so, how does next week's appointment matter?????? My friend kind enough to say 'thank you' to those 'kind' nurses and we left to the 3rd department. It only took 2 minutes for us to explain our case to the 3rd department and the nurse was really helpful enough to tell us she will look into the matter. She got my friend's number and we left.
The above incident has somehow reminded me of the complain lodged against the same hospital many weeks ago. The complain was about the time the hospital took to see the patient and the time the patient waited to get his/her medicine. Well, after the first complain, the following complain was reported together with photos. Hmm... seriously, when the nurses at the 2nd department were making those kind of 'explaination', I really wanted to snap a photo of them...
Of course, ... my anger was cooled down by my friend... who really good to play along with them. hahaha... Oh well.... terrible attitude!

Home!

I always have the issue of 'home' ever since I left where I grew up (Tawau, Sabah) for studies and ever since then, because I never get to go back there and stay there for long / for good, somehow I have yet to figure out where my HOME is....
A friend is facing the same issue lately and hence, the question of where is our 'home' again appeared in my mind. When I left Bristol, England and returned for the 1st time, that was few months after I left, I somehow felt that, Bristol was my HOME. The feeling was so strong that even my parents told me they think I have well settled there and that I belong to that place. Oh well, I have to admit, I am a totally changed person ever since my 3 years there at Bristol. I still think, Bristol is where I should be at... Oh well, England if not Bristol. KL is definately not my home even though I stayed there for 8 years plus and still, I can't seems to 'feel' that place as my home. Hence, I moved back to Sabah when I had the chance to. Is KK my home? I must say, I am considering of buying an apartment or a condominium in KK, but.... somehow, I still can't feel that 'strong feeling' I had for Bristol ... so, if you ask me if KK is my home, I am not sure myself.
A friend somehow, has reminded me that, may be... after all, Tawau is my home. Oh well.... Tawau is my root.... and my parents stays there. For now, I get to go back almost once in every month... for work and to visit my parents... I felt strange when I first came back from England, but I am now used to it. If you ask me where I can find battery in my house in Tawau, I can tell you at the drawer next to the store room. If you ask me where to get strings, I can tell you it's at the backyard, etc. etc. The same apply to Bristol. Ask me where to buy shoes, I can recommend you a few places. Ask me where to buy wedding gifts, and I can tell you a few places. Even if you ask me about banking, getting work permits and so on, I can tell you where they are. I went to England last year June and I must say, I felt like I went home.... So, if you ask me where home is, I guess I won't be able to tell you....
It is suppose to be in Tawau... but the feeling of a HOME? ... feels like... Bristol/England.
